4.4% of Santa Clara County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Santa Clara County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 46,957 people out of the 1,932,022 living in Santa Clara County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Santa Clara County has increased compared to the 4.2% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Santa Clara County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 1,008,997 people who had a job during that time, 1,229 were employed in the Armed Forces and 1,007,768 belonged to the civilian labor force.
