San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metro lag behind Beaumont-Port Arthur in 2019

The San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metro area exported $20.9 billion in 2019, less than exports from Beaumont-Port Arthur in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metro area consists of two counties.

The Beaumont-Port Arthur metro area comprises three counties exporting $22 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
