There was a single gas station in cities across San Benito County selling premium gas at the price of $5.09 per gallon in the week ending Mar. 9, according to GasBuddy.com.

Of the five gas stations in cities within San Benito County, just one offers premium gas.

The average price of premium gas in California was $5.10, compared to $4.95 the week before.

Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year’s end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
